If D2R Ladder players collect 50 Legendary Crests they can trade the Crests for a 5-Star Gem, but HolyFuror has noted that this doesn"t mean the gem is given the full 5-star ranking.

HolyFuror has published a photo which reveals some D2R Ladder microtransactions and why players aren"t able to get a 5- out of 5-Star Gem when exchanging 50 Legendary Crests to get the assured Gem. The image shows it is possible that D2R Ladder fans may expect to receive the 5 out of 5-Star Gem based on the game"s in-game terminology, but Activision Blizzard has already mentioned in the shop overview why this isn"t actually the case. If D2R Ladder players trade their Legendary Crests to get the 5-Star Gem it could have any value between one and five stars, and will fall to RNG.
